The business and computer department offers a complete range of business and computer courses, helping students acquire an understanding of business concepts and principles. Students will gain hands on experiences through fun and engaging learning activities such as in class competitions and job shadowing experiences.
Our business and computer students are very successful in local employment immediately after graduation and in pursuing further studies at the post secondary level.
Computer Integration
TISS' computer department is proud to be a part of the Integrated Science Studies program offered in Grade 9. Students in BTT 1OE develop critical information technology skills in a fun, dynamic environment which combines the work done in their Computer course with their Science, Math, and Technology courses.
Common application software used for word processing, spreadsheets, databases, presentations, desktop publishing, and website authoring are used to complete science and technical reports, analyze and graph data, and present information. The students also create an electronic portfolio using Macromedia Dreamweaver and Fireworks, which showcases their work and progress in each course using a personalized website.
